The Role: True Ownership & Impact As Project Manager, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, representatives, and governing authorities-running projects up to $5M (or multiple projects totaling that value) with minimal day-to-day supervision. Secure & Optimize the Work : Estimate and bid projects thoroughly-review drawings, specs, vendor proposals, and internal requirements; negotiate competitive pricing and proactively identify value engineering and prefabrication opportunities to present compelling alternatives to clients. Integrate & Add Value : Spot early chances for prefabrication, modular builds, and VE; promote our full suite of mechanical disciplines as seamless project partners. Lead Safety & Field Execution : Create site-specific safety plans and JHAs; maintain a strong on-site presence with a working knowledge of all project scopes (electrical, structural, etc.); own the construction schedule-monitor progress, analyze subcontractor schedules, communicate changes, and resolve delays before they elevate. Control the Process : Expertly handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and field work orders-negotiate changes assertively and navigate complex project requirements (OCIP/CCIP, tax exemptions, certified payroll, diversity goals, etc.). Own Profitability : Maintain deep visibility into job costs, labor metrics, collective bargaining agreements, monthly forecasting, and post-project reviews/lessons learned. Develop Talent : Mentor, train, and delegate to Project Engineers and interns-build a culture of excellence and professional growth. What You Bring- The Mechanical Expert Profile We're seeking proven talent with deep mechanical knowledge, ownership mindset, and the ability to thrive in fast-moving environments. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (required) 5-10+ years of progressive experience with a mechanical contractor (strong HVAC, plumbing, piping background preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint); Bluebeam experience a plus Familiarity with Penta and OnBase a plus OSHA 30-Hour Card (required); additional safety certifications highly valued Thorough understanding of mechanical means/methods, change order negotiation, subcontractor/vendor management, and risk mitigation Ability to perform under pressure, multitask, prioritize, and adapt quickly Outstanding verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills-professional, positive, and relationship-oriented Self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, with strong initiative and ethical awareness Capable of working independently while remaining a collaborative team player Why Join Us?
