Overview
Hartzell's Heat & Air is seeking a licensed HVAC Sales/Service Technician to join our growing team in Kingfisher, OK. This hybrid role combines hands-on technical service with consultative sales, giving you the opportunity to diagnose, repair, and improve HVAC systems while helping customers make informed decisions about upgrades and maintenance solutions.

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install residential and/or commercial HVAC systems
- Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical system issues
- Clearly explain technical findings and solution options to customers
- Promote preventative maintenance plans and system upgrades when appropriate
- Identify upsell opportunities in a consultative, non-pushy manner
- Maintain accurate service documentation and detailed service reports
- Ensure compliance with all local codes and safety regulations
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotation (evenings/weekends as required)
- Maintain a professional appearance that reflects positively on the company
Requirements
- Valid Oklahoma Mechanical Journeyman License
- EPA Universal Certification (or ability to obtain immediately upon hire)
- Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License with insurable driving record
- 2–7 years of verifiable HVAC service & repair experience
- 1–2 years of experience in a Lead or Senior Technician role
- Ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical customers
- Strong written communication skills for service reports
- Strong troubleshooting skills that go beyond symptom-fixing to root-cause analysis
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs, climb ladders, work in attics/crawlspaces, and perform physical job duties
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
- Must possess a standard set of personal HVAC hand tools
Nice to Have
- Previous in-home sales or Comfort Consultant experience
- Proven ability to identify and close consultative upsell opportunities
- Certifications from major HVAC brands (Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Daikin, etc.)
- Experience with VRF/VRV systems, BAS systems, zoning systems, or high-efficiency communicating equipment
- Experience troubleshooting complex or intermittent HVAC issues
- Geothermal installation or service experience
- Minor ductwork modification experience
- Experience quoting replacement systems or upgrade projects
- Strong customer satisfaction history
- Experience with smart thermostats or home automation systems
- Organized, detail-oriented paperwork and documentation habits
