Key AccountabilitiesIf you are selected as the I&E Automation Lead, you will be supporting operations, base, and capital projects. The I&E Automation Lead will also need to cover a wide range of control systems, including programming, troubleshooting, and tuning of our PLCs and PID loops. Instrumentation, Electrical, &Control services are a critical piece of the ongoing operations and maintenance of the Bakken Asset. This role will also require in depth collaboration to direct maintenance of our programs alongside our engineering team in support of asset goals such as, but not limited to, operability, security risk reduction, and revision control of programs. This position will be a leader for the team in safety and technical know-how for I&E troubleshooting.Your responsibilities may include:Comply with all applicable DOT and OSHA regulations, and safety policies and proceduresPerforming all duties of this position with a focus on safety, environmental protection and regulatory complianceProvide support to engineering for development of new programs and control schemesServe as a leader in I&E team for safety and technical knowledgeServe as leader for Defect Elimination in the I&E space in conjunction with engineeringDrive collaboration between multiple different teams, including Ops, Capital Projects, Engineering, and MaintenanceCoordinate with engineering and specialists to plan and execute program changes/upgradesTune and Troubleshoot PID loops to help optimize field instrumentationReview failures and pull data for analysis to improve automation and operabilityIdentify control improvements and implement through MOC processMaintaining technical and administrative records, including prints and project reportsPursuit of cost reduction opportunitiesBe on call, responding to emergencies and maintain emergency response preparednessCompleting and maintaining required safety/regulatory training (CBT)Required and Preferred Skills and Experience5+ years of experience in Instrumentation, Electrical, & Controls3+ years of experience in the oil and gas industryAdvanced knowledge reading and understanding electrical drawings (i.e., P&ID’s, C&E’s)Advanced knowledge of process equipment, troubleshooting and production operationsIntermediate knowledge in low and medium voltage circuitsBasic knowledge of IIOT process and equipmentBasic knowledge in Scada packs, Allen Bradley, ROC and CygnetWilling and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) perform/comply with the following:Climb various ladders and stairs ranging up to 50 feet in height to perform maintenance on equipment.Raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 poundsWalk, stand, stoop, sit climb and carry material on an as needed basis on even and uneven groundWork outside in harsh weather conditionsWork alone a high percentage of the timeWear personal protective equipment (PPE)Be on callPreferred:Associate degree or higher in Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E), other related technical field or foreign equivalent7+ years of experience in Instrumentation, Electrical, & Controls5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industryIntermediate level of knowledge of National Electric CodeBasic level of knowledge of the ICSAdvanced level of knowledge in Scada packs, Allen Bradley, ROC, Cygnet, and IgnitionBasic proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and WordAbility to understand PLC programmingAbility to collaborate with multiple disciplines and adapt to changing business needs.Excellent communications and collaboration skills
