Security Architect Consultant (IAM & Automation)
Location: 100% Remote
Job Type: Contract (12 months, with possible extension)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Security Architect Consultant with a strong background in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and security automation. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and integrating enterprise security solutions while supporting secure system architecture and automation initiatives across a large IT environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical expertise, strong security architecture skills, and experience working with enterprise-scale systems and security frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including:
- Identity lifecycle management
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Active Directory and application integrations
- Develop and implement security automation using scripting languages such as Python and Bash
- Integrate and automate workflows across multiple security and enterprise IT tools
- Plan, design, and implement enterprise security architectures aligned with business objectives and risk tolerance
- Design and deploy security controls to mitigate known threats
- Develop preventative strategies for emerging security threats
- Ensure consistent application of security controls across enterprise applications and infrastructure
- Validate security effectiveness and recommend improvements
- Support ongoing security operations and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in security automation development using Python, Bash, or similar tools
- 5+ years of experience with Identity and Access Management, logging, and reporting systems
- 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience
- 5+ years of experience with:
- Linux and Windows operating systems
- Network security protocols and best practices
- Experience supporting large enterprise IT environments or system deployments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SIEM platforms, analysis, and reporting
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards, such as:
- NIST CSF
- CJIS
- IRS 1075
- CMS MARS-E
- Application Security (AppSec) experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field
OR - Equivalent professional experience may be substituted for formal education
Preferred Certifications
- CISSP, CISA, CISO, or equivalent advanced security certifications
- Additional certifications such as CEH, OSCP, GPEN
- Vendor certifications in SIEM or logging technologies
