This includes assessment,diagnosis, planning and establishing outcomes, implementation, andevaluation. Based on this process, theRN directs and is responsible for other personnel involved in client care. The RN maintains professional accountabilityfor all nursing care provided to clients in the organization. Demonstratescompetency in nursing judgment. Maintains awareness of economic barriers of health care and actsaccordingly. Demonstrates knowledge ofnursing care needs and treatments for clients of various clinical specialtiesin compliance with established standards of nursing practice. Will be required to work with clients 18years of age and older. Essential Functions and Duties: Ability to organize and coordinate nursing caredelivery for clients assigned. No performance deficiencies caused by failure toadapt to new techniques. Ability to direct others in health care delivery. Requires regular talking and hearing. Must be able to stand 4-6 hours. Provides direct client care activities ifrequired, in accordance with defined department and organization policies andprocedures. Requires a concentrated level of attention. Ability to adjust the eye to bring an objectinto sharp focus. Position Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current Illinois license. B.S.N. preferred or equivalent years of experience. BLS certification required. Demonstrates clinical competence; Assumesresponsibility for own continued personal and professional growth. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate standard office equipment (i.e. copier,facsimile machine, 10-key, etc.); personal computer and printer and specificcomputer software (MS Office applications and Meditech). Physical Demands: Requires grasping and reaching with hands/arms. Ability to lift up to, but not limited to 25pounds when assisting clients, turning clients or assisting client withactivities. Requires bending, stooping, and walking. Requires good body mechanics to prevent injury. Function Duties and Responsibilities: Provides appropriate nursing care by planning,organizing, and directing the nursing functions of clients on the unit. Makes nursing assignments appropriate to theskill level of employees. Identifies problems and uses critical thinkingskills to develop solutions. Creates a working climate that provides growthand job satisfaction of personnel. Accurately and promptly implements physicians orders. Prepares, administers, and records medicationsin accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications. Records information concisely, accurately andcompletely. Complies with all infection control policies andprocedures. Coordinates and provides emergency care asneeded. Participates in orientation and in-servicetraining for personnel. Evaluates the performance of personnel withrecommendations for appropriate action. Complies with all organization policies, andassists in the review and revision of policies and procedures. Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels ofcommunication. Adjust interventions based on age appropriateguidelines as indicated. Demonstrates abilities to set priorities indirecting and/or providing safe client care by functioning in an organized andtime conscious manner. Complies with and is knowledgeable of organizationand department safety procedures and policies. Contributes to the care of the environment bymaintaining work areas and assisting with light housekeeping tasks as needed. Maintains customers rights (confidentiality,privacy, safety, security). Adapts easily to changes in work assignment andenvironment. Accepts working assignmentsaccording to client care needs in accordance with job skill level. Performs basic tasks in a timely manner withminimum guidance and supervision. Demonstrates willingness to work towarddepartment and organization goals and objectives. Assists with the development and implementationof unit goals. Conducts group therapies and assigned. Participates in multidisciplinary treatmentplanning and revises plan of care based on assessment. Participate and promote activities regardingProcess Improvement. Provides care based upon client's age specificneeds. Supports organization s philosophy, participatesas a team member, and shows courtesy, respect, and concern for the needs ofothers. . New methods are quickly learned and integratedinto job responsibilities.. Adheres to nursing staffing and schedulingpolicy (to include use of overtime). Follows chain of command resolving any issues orproblems identified. Monitors clients and documents appropriatelyaccording to risk precaution level. Maintains a safe environment monitoringcontinuously for any harmful contraband. Attends in-services, training, and meetings asrequired. Develops and evaluates own goals forprofessional growth. Attends and participates in departmentalmeetings. Maintains an active role in maintaining customerservice.
