Location: Crystal Lake, IL 60014

Assignment Start Date: 11/05/2024

13 weeks | Nights | 10-hour shift | 40 hours guaranteed weekly

The Estimated Weekly Total is based on working the listed hours per week and includes available stipend amounts. Please get in touch with a recruiter for full details.

Performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques. Administers x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees and participating in projects as requested. Depending on the site assigned, one may also be required to perform radiographer job duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs diagnostic CT procedures.
  • If assigned radiographer job duties, also performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams.
  • Corroborates patient's clinical history with the procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist.
  • Prepares the patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
  • Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort; immobilizes patient as necessary.
  • Practices aseptic technique as necessary,
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed; starts and maintains intravenous access.
  • Initiates basic life support action when necessary.
  • Provides patient education.
  • Provides input for supply and equipment decisions, and maintains control of inventory and supplies for assigned area.
  • Provides practical instruction for students and partners.
  • Observes universal protocol, standard precautions, and appropriate patient identifiers.
  • Applies principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • Must have multi-modality tech (CT and XR) experience; Radiographer experience & CT experience required
  • Required to perform CT, X-ray, Fluoro, C-arm
  • Siemens Go Top CT Scanner & Konica X-ray Equipment experience preferred
  • IV skills preferred

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program

Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration:

  • ARRT(CT) Certification required
  • ARRT Radiography registration required
  • ARRT Computed Tomography registration required
  • WI-DSPS radiographer license required
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required

EMR System: EPIC, McKesson &/or PAC experience preferred

Shift: Night Shift - Mon-Thu 9p-7a; may be required to alternate shifts, weekends, and holidays, and take calls. May be asked to flex hours and overtime as necessary to provide quality patient care at assigned sites(s).
