Assignment Start Date: 11/11/2024

13 weeks | Nights | 12-hour shift | 36 hours/week guaranteed

The Estimated Weekly Total is based on working the listed hours per week and includes available stipend amounts. Please get in touch with a recruiter for full details.

Administers ionizing radiation to patients producing diagnostic radiographs. Operates x-ray equipment, and prepares patient exam room, equipment, supplies, and medications. Performs technical and ancillary tasks necessary to provide patient services per departmental and hospital policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares exam room, equipment, accessories, and materials as needed for various exams.
  • Prepares and administers barium mixtures and other contrast agents for procedures as required.
  • Prepares patients for examination, explains procedures, assists patients on and off the exam table, and positions patients for the exam.
  • Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures according to department policies and utilizing accepted techniques for patient positioning, exposure control, and radiation protection.
  • Observe and critique radiographs utilizing appropriate equipment.
  • Monitors patient's condition during the exam and reports unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Performs portable diagnostic radiographic procedures as required.
  • Adheres to radiation safety procedures.
  • On-call for 3rd shift/holidays/weekends as scheduled.
  • Maintains cleanliness of patient exam rooms and other work areas.
  • Keeps examination room stocked with necessary supplies and accessories.
  • Performs patient reception, registration, requisition processing, and filing in the absence of conjunction with ancillary staff.
  • Other duties assigned.
  • Completes annual educational requirements. Attends in-services and meetings when required.
  • Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
  • Maintains current knowledge of ethical business practices and hospital policies and adheres to all policies.
  • Adheres to all HIPAA and DHHS privacy and security regulations.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled and completes work within the designated time.
  • Wears identification while on duty, and uses computerized punch time system correctly.
  • Represents the organization positively and professionally.
  • Support CMH on the continuous culture improvement journey aimed at improving customer
  • satisfaction and employee relations.
  • Accountability to provide service excellence to our patients and co-workers.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of RN experience preferred

Education:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited program in radiologic technology.

Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration:

  • Certification and licensing through IEMA and ARRT are required.
  • CT Experience is also required.

EMR System: Cerner Knowledge/experience preferred

Shift: Nights. 6:30 PM-6:30 am Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
