OPEN SHIFT: 6:30PM-6:30am Friday, Saturday and Sunday Required Certifications: Associatedegree or equivalent from accredited program in radiologic technology.Certification and licensed through IEMA and ARRT required. JobSummary: Administers ionizing radiation to patients producingdiagnostic radiographs. Operates x-ray equipment, prepares patient exam room,equipment, supplies and medications. Performs technical and ancillary tasksnecessary to provide patient services per departmental and hospital policy. DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES: E= Exceeds the Standard M = Meetsthe Standard NI = NeedsImprovement Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas: E M NI Prepares exam room, equipment, accessories and materials as needed for various exams. 2 1 0 Prepares and administers barium mixtures and other contrast agents for procedures as required. 2 1 0 Prepares patients for examination, explains procedures, assists patients on and off exam table, positions patients for exam. 2 1 0 Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures according to department policies and utilizing accepted techniques for patient positioning, exposure control and radiation protection. 2 1 0 Observe and critique radiographs utilizing appropriate equipment. 2 1 0 Monitors patient s condition during exam and reports unusual occurrences to supervisor. 2 1 0 Performs portable diagnostic radiographic procedures as required. 2 1 0 Adheres to radiation safety procedures. 2 1 0 On-call for 3rd shift/holidays/weekends as scheduled. 2 1 0 Maintains cleanliness of patient exam rooms and other work areas. 2 1 0 Keeps examination room stocked with necessary supplies and accessories. 2 1 0 Performs patient reception, registration, requisition processing and filing in absence of in conjunction with ancillary staff. 2 1 0 Other duties assigned. 2 1 0 Completes annual educational requirements. Ability to solve practical problems anddeal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limitedstandardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnishedin written, oral, diagram or schedule form. License or Certificate Required: Certification and licensed through IEMAand ARRT required.
