We are constantly in pursuit of better patient care and understand that speed is critical because life cannot wait.Position SummaryThe Implant Assembly Engineer is responsible for engineering-related tasks for the assembling of Implants. The Assembly Engineer is an extension of management and should lead by example. They are the liaison between the supervisor and floor assemblers. The Assembly Engineer should be proactive and ensure that production is met with an emphasis on continuous improvement as well as scrap reduction.Essential Functions:The design of fixtures and the method in which the implants will be assembledThe design and ordering of any gauging and custom tooling.Assist with the dispositioning and rework of any non-conforming product.Champion Continuous Improvement and 5S and Lean Manufacturing.This role requires a data driven approach to problem solving and process improvement. A great deal of time will be spent on problem solving and issue resolution as well as working with other departments to improve the quality of the product made.Time management and the ability to multitask are imperativeWork closely with the Assembly Supervisor to resolve issues and improve product flow.Help with the training and development of new employeesSupport the Assembly Supervisor with product flow and overall support of assembly operationsDaily monitoring and timely dispositioning and rework of non-conforming products and reduction of suchWork closely with other departments engineers to reduce scrap and defectsEnsure the area of responsibility is kept clean and organizedVisual and mechanical inspection of machined components using various methodsMeasuring and inspecting medical device products in accordance with manufacturing specificationsCreating the procedures to assemble sub-components into finished assemblies and ensuring those established procedures are robust and efficient.Visual inspection utilizing illumination devices & microscope to view internal areas of components to ensure they are adequately deburred and fit together properlyEscalate problems/issues to the Assembly Supervisor and ManagerAccurately complete all quality documentation and inspection sheetsEnsure all training is up to date and completeFollow all verbal and/or written instructions such as blueprints, traveler, work instruction, process specifications, sketches, and directions from the manager in completing a variety of assembly and inspection tasks.Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your roleRepresents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of GlobusQualificationsDegree in Machining or Mechanical Engineering, or two years of hands-on experience as a Manufacturing Engineer.Attention to detail and problem solving using a data driven approachAbility to work under a microscope for an extended periodAbility to read part drawings and above average manual dexterity as well as high mechanical aptitudeUnderstand how complex assemblies function and foresee where issues may ariseProven ability to design processes and procedures to assemble medical devicesOrganized, Team player with the ability to multi-task effectivelyAble to work with and communicate with other departments to solve problems and come up with permanent viable solutions to issuesReliable, self-starting team player with ability to work with little or no supervisionStrong communication skillsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands listed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Required to possess specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and capacity to adjust focus.Our ValuesOur Life Moves Us philosophy is built on four values: Passionate About Innovation, Customer Focused, Teamwork, and Driven.Passionate About Innovation: Improving patient care by delivering advanced technology to our customers is at the core of what we do.
