Blue Sky Utility is a leader in the renewable energy sector, specializing in solar and energy storage solutions. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated In-House Counsel with expertise in general corporate law and leasing/real estate matters to join our dynamic team.
Position Summary:
The In-House Counsel will provide legal support across a range of corporate and real estate leasing matters, ensuring the company operates within legal and regulatory frameworks. This is an exciting opportunity for a junior attorney with at least three years of experience to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and mission-driven company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Corporate Legal Support:
- Provide general legal advice on corporate governance, contracts, and compliance issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements.
- Support M&A and other strategic initiatives as needed.
- Real Estate and Leasing:
- Manage and negotiate commercial leases and real estate transactions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable real estate and leasing laws and regulations.
- Liaise with external counsel on complex real estate matters.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations related to the renewable energy sector.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks related to business operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the operations, finance, and leadership teams to align legal strategies with company objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on legal and risk management issues.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the Florida Bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house setting, with a focus on corporate law and real estate/leasing.
- Strong knowledge of commercial leasing and real estate transactions is required.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment with attention to detail.
- Experience in renewable energy or a similar industry is a plus but not required.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid role based out of our Fort Lauderdale, FL office, with three days per week in the office.

A reasonable estimate of the current annual salary range is $120,000-$140,000 including annual bonus
