Position Summary


Supports comprehensive coordination of Long Term Care services including creating authorizations, outreaching providers, bridging service gaps, assisting with claims resolution and monitoring authorization & claims reports.

Promotes/supports quality effectiveness of Healthcare Services and cost effective care planning while maintaining contract requirements.

Additional responsibilities to include but not limited to the following:

  • Monitoring inbound authorization queue
  • Analyzing requests to determine appropriate intervention
  • Entering service authorization lines into authorization system

- Creating authorization letters, sending to providers and confirming receipt - Maintaining accurate records

  • Documenting tasks within contractual timeframes

- Monitoring and analyzing authorization reports to identify errors and trends - Working with provider network on single case agreements

  • Monitoring the Call Tracking Queue
  • Working on special projects as assigned

- Fostering provider relationships - Identifying process improvements and creating job aids and process guides

  • Working with providers, claims, and other departments to resolve issues
  • Collaborating with other departments including Network, Utilization Management, and Prior Authorization
  • Supporting the case management department
  • Responding timely to requests for information linked to grievance and appeals and member provider complaints


Required Qualifications


  • 1+ years experience as a medical assistant, office assistant, Customer Service Rep or similar role
  • Computer literacy in order to navigate through internal/external computer systems, including Excel and Microsoft Word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with long term care, managed care or medical care.
  • Effective communication, telephonic and organization skills.
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology and concepts used in care management.
  • Strong customer service skills to coordinate service delivery including attention to customers, sensitivity to issues, proactive identification and resolution of issues to promote positive outcomes for members.
  • Ability to effectively participate in a multi-disciplinary team including internal and external participants.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent GED

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$17.00 - $25.65

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
