Why This Role Matters

Blue Ridge Energy is seeking a skilled Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Network Analyst to help design, maintain, and protect the critical communications networks that power our electric system. This role sits at the intersection of networking, RF communications, fiber, and operational technology (OT) cybersecurity, directly supporting SCADA systems and substation communications that keep our members safely and reliably connected.

  • Install and maintain microwave, two-way radio, RF, and data communications systems
  • Support fiber optic networks (single-mode and multi-mode), including installation, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) across Layers 2–7
  • Design and maintain RF, microwave, and radio networks for critical infrastructure
  • Monitor and enforce OT network security controls, including IT/OT segmentation (firewalls, VLANs, zoning)
  • Assist with deployment and management of OT cybersecurity tools (IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, security monitoring)
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to support communications for relays, control equipment, and control schemes
  • Maintain equipment inventory and provide expert technical support
  • Collaborate across IT/Communications and provide cross-training and backup support

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent training/experience)
  • Strong foundational knowledge of electricity, networking, and RF communications
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
  • Willingness to travel overnight occasionally and work evenings/weekends as needed

Preferred Experience & Certifications (Not Required)

  • Experience with RF communications systems
  • Experience in electric distribution operations
  • Certifications such as: CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, CIAC, GRID, GICSP, GCIP
  • Amateur Radio License or FCC General Radio Operator License

What Makes This Role Unique
