If so, we are seeking an Industrial Designer who will assist the Jansy sales team, design team, and Creative Director in the development of structural packaging solutions for primary and secondary packaging, through concept development and engineering, with the goal of securing new and ongoing business for Berlin Packaging - Jansy. Key Accountabilities Creative concepting and design for new packaging for a variety of clients and markets Work with the Jansy team on new packaging development and research Develop concepts through sketching, CAD modeling, and 3D realistic rendering, while keeping in mind our mantra of Practical Creativity Develop physical prototypes through 3D printing and use of CAD cutting table Develop technical drawings and spec sheets to provide to engineering team and vendors for review and quoting Build thorough presentations to showcase designs and functions of new packaging Work with project management and sales team to support client needs Work directly with clients to effectively present new ideas or gather information Work directly with our engineering team in China to validate designs for manufacturing Work with our vendors to ensure that CAD files are thorough and accurate, and the design intention is maintained as best as possible Review and provide feedback on technical drawing files from engineers and vendors Maintain awareness of current industry and technology standards, new materials and processes, competitive landscape, and market trends Fulfill employee portion of the Berlin Values Knowledge, Skills, Abilities HS diploma required, BA/BS in Industrial design preferred 3+ years’ professional experience as an industrial designer Extreme attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment Packaging experience a plus Excellent proficiency in 3D design software – Fusion 360, Solidworks Excellent proficiency in Keyshot rendering – attention to detail and realism Excellent proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite on the Mac OS X platform Understanding of different materials used in manufacturing products and packaging Understanding of different manufacturing processes for products and packaging Understanding of different print techniques and applications Ability to efficiently and effectively organize, prioritize, follow through, and proof your work to be error free Demonstrate ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Willingness to learn and adapt to daily challenges and changing priorities Strong time-management skills and interpersonal skills: working well with others, taking direction well, and also working independently Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to travel as needed #LI-Hybrid CA Base Pay Range$70,000—$75,000 USD Compensation and Benefits Berlin Packaging offers an outstanding compensation and benefits package including: Competitive PTO including vacation, personal days, holidays, and sick time 1 Berlin Shared Ownership Plan Profit sharing 401(k) with company match Medical insurance including dental insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) for transportation, medical, and dependent care expenses Vision insurance options Paid parental leave for up to 12-weeks Health club reimbursement Tuition reimbursement 529 college savings plan Employee Assistance Program for mental health and well-being Calm app to improve mental wellbeing Employee referral program Company sponsored life insurance with optional voluntary life insurance Company sponsored short- and long-term disability At Berlin Packaging, we look at candidates’ skills but hire based on traits.
