Job Summary:

  • Position: Industrial Electrician (Power Plant)
  • Key Focus: Safe and efficient maintenance of the power plant and associated electrical equipment.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Perform inspections, repairs, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
    • Train and guide less experienced maintenance personnel.
    • Maintain logs, records, and reports on electrical maintenance and operations.
    • Diagnose electrical malfunctions and recommend corrective actions.
    • Develop electrical diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specs for equipment.
    • Oversee electrical installations, including those by third-party contractors.
    • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Essential Duties:

  • Adherence to company safety/environmental policies.
  • Control and shipment of hazardous waste.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Monitor, plan, and recommend equipment modifications.
  • Operate heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes) when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of plant area and tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on training in electrical systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of power plant maintenance experience, including completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of high-voltage systems (4160v and above).
    • Experience with Motor Control Centers.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting one-line electrical diagrams.
    • Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and complex control systems.
    • Proficient in using electrical test equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
    • Basic to intermediate computer skills.
