Overview As an Information Systems Technician (IT) in the U.S. Navy, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, managing, and securing the vital networks and information systems that keep Navy ships, submarines, and aircraft operating at peak performance. Key Responsibilities Network Management & Administration: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot various communication networks and systems aboard ships, submarines, and aircraft, including LAN setups and satellite communication systems. Cybersecurity: Implement security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, including managing firewalls, encryption systems, and intrusion detection systems. System Installation & Repair: Perform installations, repairs, and upgrades to ensure all communication technologies are fully operational.
