Associate or bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer sciences, information security, or related field preferred. Must have a minimum of two years' experience in the areas of computer hardware and software support. A combination of education, certifications, and relevant training may be considered in lieu of the minimum experience requirement. Preferred certification areas: CompTIA certifications such as A+, Network+, and Security+. Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate. Required areas of understanding: Microsoft and Apple client O/S environments. PC and Apple-based hardware/software support. Network printer and print server support. TCP/IP-based network support. LAN cable and wiring infrastructure. Basic cybersecurity awareness and risk management. Strong knowledge of mainstream audio/visual equipment. Preferred areas of understanding: Microsoft Active Directory account management. Fundamental layer 2 managed switch administration. Google Workspace account administration. Educational technology. Basic telephony and VoIP device support. Access control and surveillance infrastructure support. Required personal skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent public relations skills. Excellent problem-solving and research skills. Strong attention to detail. A passion for technology. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assist with installation, operation, maintenance and management of client hardware and software. Assist with the provisioning, maintenance, and support of user and device accounts on a variety of platforms. Assist in completing and documenting Systems work order tickets in a timely manner. Assist in maintaining accurate records of technical procedures, asset inventory, and support interactions. Assist end-users and guests with software, hardware, and audio/visual equipment as needed. Assist instructional faculty with curriculum software, hardware, and audio/visual equipment for a wide array of trade specific technology. Assist with maintenance and setup of campus audio/visual equipment. Assists with software and hardware asset management. Assist with support of access control and video surveillance system as needed. Always maintain strict confidentiality. Act as a positive advocate for MTC by demonstrating pride in the organization as a place to work and learn, and by speaking positively about programs, staff, and the learning environment in all interactions. Actively support and model MTC’s Culture of Excellence by demonstrating a commitment to the Standards of Excellence, continuous improvement initiatives, collaboration, innovation, and delivering high-quality service to students, staff, and the community. A willingness to be available to provide organizational IT support outside of normal work hours. Abide by all policies and procedures adopted by the Meridian Technology Center Board of Education. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing 25 pounds and/or push items weighing up to 50 pounds on a dolly or cart. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to traverse district facilities and property to diagnose IT issues, plan repairs, or perform hands‑on duties. 12-month position STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE The Information Systems Technician will be evaluated on the previously listed responsibilities to determine satisfactory compliance. These evaluations will determine salary increases and career advancement possibilities. LOCATION The primary work location is the Main Campus in Stillwater, OK, with responsibility to perform work at local learning sites and campuses within MTC’s district as needed. FLSA CLASSIFICATION Nonexempt SALARY Commensurate with experience.
