Position Summary The Security Officer is a key position on the MultiCare Security Services team. In this role, you provide protection over MultiCare Health System properties and facilities, and own the responsibility for the security and safety of patients, employees, and visitors. Work Details FTE: Full Time | Shift: Night | Schedule: 12‑hour shifts Responsibilities Conduct general security protection of people and property and enforce all applicable policies, rules, and regulations. Deter criminal activity and misconduct using tactical techniques. Utilize Management of Aggressive Behavior skills both verbally and physically as required. Apply awareness, vigilance, avoidance, defense, and escape concepts to protect and serve the campus. Use weapons detection devices to monitor patients/visitors and ensure contraband removal. Apply appropriate techniques with assistive devices when engaging with combative or aggressive individuals. Operate and leverage required security equipment and tools effectively. Requirements High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Current Washington or Idaho state driver’s license (driving not required for this position at Navos Hospital). IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire. Minimum six months of experience in police, military, or security, preferably in a health‑care setting. Proof of a safe driving record (if required by a specific facility). BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire. First Aid training within 30 days of hire.
