The Information Technology Specialist (ITS) provides essential support for health informatics and electronic medical record (EMR) systems across multiple hospital environments. This role is responsible for EMR account provisioning, workflow documentation, vendor coordination, and supporting clinical and IT teams to ensure seamless system access and compliance. The ITS also contributes to operational efficiency through strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Primary Responsibilities: Health Informatics / EMR Support Create and maintain EMR user accounts across multiple hospital systems. Track, prepare, and submit EMR account batch requests to ensure timely provisioning. Document EMR workflows, procedures, and staff responsiveness for audit and improvement purposes. Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT personnel to resolve access issues and meet hospital compliance requirements. Monitor outstanding requests, coordinate follow-ups, and escalate issues to leadership when necessary. Secondary Responsibilities (Employees who are able to perform these duties may be expected to do so as needed.) Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Attend department meetings and participate in cross-functional committees. Pursue ongoing professional development through training, certification, and continuing education. Manage sensitive information—including donor, hospital, and vendor data—with confidentiality and integrity. Required Skills & Abilities Strong vendor negotiation, procurement, and cost-management abilities. Proficiency with invoice management, purchase order systems, and financial documentation workflows. Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with vendors, finance teams, and internal stakeholders. Proactive problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to independently identify and implement process improvements.
