Position: IT Specialist (70% System Administrator / 30% Help Desk)

Location: Ridgeway, SC (Manufacturing / Factory Environment)

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on IT Specialist to support and maintain IT operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role combines system administration and end-user support, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of all IT systems supporting both office and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support factory IT infrastructure, including servers, network systems, and end-user devices
  • Administer and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks, switches, firewalls, and wireless connectivity
  • Provide technical support to office and production users (hardware, software, printers, and access-related issues)
  • Support production-related IT systems to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with external vendors and global IT teams as needed
  • Assist with system monitoring, data backups, and implementation of cybersecurity best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial IT environment
  • Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
  • SAP experience (user support and/or system interaction) is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 lbs (e.g., desktops, monitors, network devices)
  • Comfortable working on-site in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise and varying temperatures
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods when supporting factory operations
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g., under desks, server rooms, network racks)
  • Manual dexterity to handle cables, tools, and small components
  • Ability to use ladders or step stools when necessary
