Information Technology Specialist – U.S. Army (Entry-Level, No Experience Needed) Full-time | Part-time | Contract | Paid Training | U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Required Join the U.S. Army as an Information Technology Specialist and gain hands-on experience maintaining, processing, and troubleshooting military computer systems. No prior experience needed—complete training and certifications provided. Overview Information Technology Specialists maintain networks, hardware, and software. They provide customer and network administration and develop, test, and edit computer programs. Job Duties Maintain networks, hardware, and software. Provide customer and network administration services. Construct, edit, and test computer programs. Training 10 weeks Basic Combat Training. 20 weeks Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. Learn to use computer consoles and peripheral equipment. Understand computer systems concepts. Plan, design, and test computer systems. Requirements U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (I-551). Age 17–34; ages 35–39 may qualify with a waiver. High school diploma or equivalent. Must pass criminal background check and drug screening. Must be in good physical health. Minimum ASVAB Skilled Technical (ST) score: 95. Helpful Skills Interest in computer science. Attention to detail. Effective communication skills. Experience installing computers. Compensation $40,000–$80,000 per year. Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time. Bonuses Earn up to $40,000 in enlistment bonuses for in-demand jobs. Education Benefits Full tuition scholarships, book allowances, and living stipends for qualified students. Future Civilian Careers Network support technician. Data-processing technician. Computer programmer. Army PaYS Program Guaranteed job interviews with military-friendly employers after service.
