Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Infrastructure spokesperson during Disaster Recovery events, facilitating communication across Northern Trust groups.

  • Understand and assess connections between applications and underlying infrastructure mechanisms for cloning solutions and validating recovery scenarios.

  • Represent Infrastructure towers in DR meetings, providing updates on capabilities and issues.

  • Coordinate high availability and failover resiliency mechanisms across application and infrastructure stacks.

  • Manage DR Plans and DR testing, ensuring timely updates and successful execution of tests.

  • Serve as POC for DR testing and incident management across Infrastructure teams.

  • Integrate DR automation solutions, reducing overall recovery time for Infrastructure services.

  • Lead and support innovation and technology experiments across private, public, and hybrid cloud environments.

  • Analyze and communicate technical and operational data during DR events for risk management and process improvements.

  • Ensure quality and accuracy of Disaster Recovery documentation (plans, training, procedural artifacts).

  • Coordinate and guide comprehensive testing strategies, leveraging data analytics and automation.

  • Remediate infrastructure gaps identified by audits or internal DR assessments.

  • Share insights and learnings from Infrastructure meetings with management.

Key Skills:

  • Disaster Recovery (DR) Planning and Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

  • DR Testing (including failover and recovery validation)

  • Infrastructure Architecture and Application Development Architectures

  • Technical Problem Solving and System Analysis

  • Automation experience (including DR automation)

  • High Availability & Failover Mechanisms

  • Cloud Technologies (private, public, hybrid)

  • Security Concepts (Replication, Backups, Access Management, Network Segmentation)

  • Stakeholder Management and Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Regulatory and Compliance Frameworks (for disaster recovery)

  • Agile Development environment experience

  • Project Management and Communication skills

  • Data Analytics for risk management and process improvement

  • Experience with VMware vRO, ServiceNow, and Fusion (a plus)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.

  • 7+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer at an enterprise scale.

  • 5+ years of Disaster Recovery experience, including testing and planning.

  • 5+ years of project management and technical leadership experience.

  • Practical experience in both technology infrastructure and application development architectures.

  • Experience in Agile environments and the integration of DR automation solutions.

  • Familiarity with financial or regulatory domains is a plus.

  • Knowledge of VMware vRO, ServiceNow, and Fusion is advantageous.
