Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Infrastructure Linux Engineer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to advance the infrastructure team by transitioning from traditional infrastructure methodologies to an infrastructure as code approach. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Kubernetes container orchestration, with additional knowledge in CI/CD integration and cloud technologies. This role will involve automation, infrastructure configuration management, and collaboration with development teams to enhance their existing pipelines. The position requires working onsite 2 days per week in Pleasanton, CA and being available for on-call rotation when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Automation & Infrastructure Management: Build and automate infrastructure across Linux/Windows OS, storage platforms, and database platforms using tools such as Ansible or similar.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Drive the team toward an infrastructure as code approach, automating operational workloads to reduce manual interventions.
  • CI/CD Pipeline: Collaborate with development teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines, incorporating security best practices and cloud technologies for on-premise and Azure environments.
  • Kubernetes Orchestration: Maintain and expand the Kubernetes platform for container orchestration, troubleshoot CI/CD integration, and manage container workloads.
  • Cloud Integration: Assist with building fault-tolerant private cloud infrastructure and leverage cloud technologies for automation and scaling.
  • Security: Implement security best practices within the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring that all automation and infrastructure meet security standards.
  • Operational Support: Provide operational support for infrastructure services, including storage, server, and network services, transitioning between traditional and modern infrastructure systems.
  • Performance Monitoring: Identify performance issues on the platform and resolve them using industry best practices.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as a thought leader across teams, providing guidance and direction for the adoption of infrastructure as code practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience leading in a containerized environment using Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • 4+ years of experience with Linux administration, specifically RedHat or equivalent distributions.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Windows Servers in either application support or administration.
  • 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes container workloads, including image management, Kubernetes fundamentals, and registry operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields (equivalent experience may be substituted).
  • 8+ years of experience in IT or Operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience documenting standard operating procedures related to system administration.
  • 3+ years of experience working with cloud-native apps such as Grafana, Prometheus, MongoDB, Postgres.
  • 2+ years of experience automating infrastructure components using Ansible or similar tools.
  • 2+ years of experience managing ingress in Kubernetes using NGINX, Istio, and network policies with Calico.
  • 2+ years of experience building and maintaining Docker images.
  • 1+ year of experience using ServiceNow to manage incidents and service requests.
Onsite Requirement:

This role requires working onsite 2 days per week in Pleasanton, CA.
