Position Overview
We are a growing, patient-focused rheumatology practice seeking an experienced Infusion Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team. This role is ideal for a nurse who values continuity of care, teamwork, and delivering high-quality infusion services in a calm outpatient setting.
Our infusion suite supports patients receiving biologic and specialty infusions for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. The infusion nurse plays a critical role in patient education, medication safety, clinical coordination, and infusion operations.
Key Responsibilities
Administer IV infusions and injections per provider orders and established protocols
Prepare, reconstitute, and mix infusion medications in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, pharmacy standards, and practice protocols
Maintain a strong working knowledge of rheumatology medications, including biologics and osteoporosis therapies, and their specific preparation, mixing, storage, and administration requirements
Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions
Perform IV starts, venipuncture, and medication preparation following safety standards
Educate patients on medications, potential side effects, and post-infusion care
Accurately document infusion details, assessments, medication preparation, and patient responses in the EMR
Review patient charts and make order recommendations for provider review and sign-off
Ensure all required labs, authorizations, and clinical prerequisites are complete and up to date prior to infusion
Manage medication inventory using Lynx inventory management, including tracking, reconciliation, and compliance documentation
Receive, unpack, and properly store medications in accordance with storage and safety requirements
Coordinate closely with providers, prior authorization staff, and other clinical team members
Maintain infusion room readiness, medication inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety and regulatory protocols
Respond appropriately to infusion reactions or emergencies per established protocols
Qualifications
Active RN license in the state of Florida (required)
Infusion experience required (rheumatology, oncology, or specialty infusion strongly preferred)
Demonstrated experience with medication preparation, mixing, and reconstitution
Strong understanding of rheumatology drugs, infusion protocols, and safety considerations
Excellent IV skills
Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Ability to work independently while collaborating in a small, team-based practice
