Location: Eagle Butte, SD 57625

Pay Rate: $53 per hour + Travel stipends if applicable
Schedule: TBD; on-call required. Must be flexible for days, nights, weekends, and Federal holidays. Overtime may be required.

Contract Length: 1 year with the option to extend

Benefits: $5.09 per hour for Health and Welfare, PTO (5 days at 6 months, 5 more at year), sick leave accrued 56 hours per year, and holiday pay.

Job Description:

The Inpatient Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to admitted patients across the lifespan in a Critical Access Hospital setting. This role requires clinical versatility, strong assessment skills, and the ability to support inpatient operations with occasional coverage in outpatient or emergency settings.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 months of inpatient nursing experience within the last 2 years

  • Experience caring for all age groups (pediatric, adult, geriatric)

  • Active, current, and unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state, DC, or U.S. territory

  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA-certified)

  • Ability to work in a Critical Access Hospital environment

  • Must complete all required competencies and trainings prior to start date

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inpatient nursing care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients

  • Administer medications, IV therapy, wound care, wound vacs, injections, and immunizations

  • Perform lab draws, point-of-care testing, blood glucose checks, and catheter care

  • Support swing bed and admitted Critical Access Hospital patients

  • Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, including staffing coordination and shift reporting

  • Communicate high-risk situations to nursing leadership or administrator on call

  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)

  • Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and facility policies
