Nortek designs and manufactures scientific instruments that apply the Doppler principle to underwater acoustics in order to measure water in motion, such as currents and waves.

We are looking for an Inside Sales & Support Representative to help expand our go-to-market business model in the US & Canada. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can qualify leads that will generate new business activity. You will have a genuine interest in seeing clients succeed in ocean science, subsea navigation, and maritime operations. You should also enjoy speaking with prospects, traveling, organizing demonstrations and workshops (after extensive training), and working with your colleagues to come up with new strategies.

This is an entry-level position with a path to becoming a Sales Engineer with account responsibilities after successful work progress of one year. You will also gain international work experience through interaction with our global subsidiaries, while enjoying the work-life balance encouraged a company with Norwegian roots.

Requirements

The ideal candidate would have prior experience that includes:

  • Prior inside sales experience OR work experience in the subsea market, offshore energy, and sales DNA
  • Experience interacting with scientists, engineers, underwater vehicle manufacturers, or sales/marketing executives
  • An interest in markets such as: oceanography, coastal engineering, marine science, fisheries, subsea vehicles, offshore energy, or hydraulic laboratories.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field OR a marketing, business, or communications degree with experience working for a subsea related industry.

Essential job functions

  • Support Sales Engineers by handling incoming sales leads and disseminating by market or region
  • Tradeshow, conference, and demonstration activity planning and sales follow-up process
  • Prospecting for leads and qualifying new business.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, provide quotes and process customer orders
  • Handle battery and accessories quotes and orders, plus assist with pulling inventory and preparing shipments
  • Support for Webshop and e-commerce administration
  • Public speaking and presenting to technical audiences at conferences, customers at their places of business, or small workshops.
  • Troubleshoot customer concerns and solve first level support problems, including some hands-on RMA repairs

Musts:

  • US citizenship
  • Valid driver's license
  • Professional demeanor, team-minded attitude, and genuine interest in client success

Location - Boston, MA with some flexibility to work from home
