Job Description

Job Description

At Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI), we build autonomous robotics solutions that operate in complex, real-world environments. As our technology evolves, so must the way our people learn.

We are seeking an Instructional Design / Learning Technology Intern to support our Corporate Training team in building, improving, and scaling technical learning experiences. This internship is ideal for a senior-level student at Utah State University (USU) in an Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or closely related program who wants hands-on experience with production-level training content in a high-tech environment.

This is not a shadowing role. You'll contribute directly to courses used by engineers, technicians, and business teams across ASI.

What You'll Work On

Course Conversion & Maintenance (Primary Focus)

  • Convert existing LMS courses into SCORM-compliant packages using Articulate Storyline

  • Retire legacy "Bridge" trainings and standardize content delivery

  • Update and enhance existing courses for clarity, accuracy, and usability

Content Development & Skill Growth

  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to capture workflows and technical knowledge

  • Build new onboarding and process-focused training modules using Articulate 360 (Storyline)

  • Develop training content for:

    • Software SOPs

    • Training team procedures and best practices

    • High-level business and operational processes

Quality Assurance & Publishing

  • Test SCORM packages for tracking, navigation, and LMS compatibility

  • Apply accessibility and usability best practices

  • Document publishing steps, version history, and updates

What Success Looks Like
  • Courses are converted, published, and functioning correctly in the LMS

  • Training content is clean, consistent, and easy to follow

  • SMEs trust the training team to translate their knowledge accurately

Required Qualifications
  • Senior-level student pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Technical Communication, or a closely related field

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM standards

  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of learning principles or instructional design models
  • Working knowledge of Articulate 360 (Storyline preferred) through coursework, projects, or internships
  • Exposure to accessibility best practices (WCAG)
  • Basic media editing experience (screen capture, audio, light video)
  • Portfolio or sample eLearning projects (coursework is acceptable)

You'll Do Well Here If You...
  • Enjoy turning complex information into clear learning

  • Like working with technical professionals

  • Care about quality, structure, and usability

  • Are curious, coachable, and comfortable asking questions
