Job Description
The Curriculum Developer position on the Training Services team will increase the capacity of the current training team by focusing primarily on development of new and maintenance of existing training deliverables. Each Curriculum Developer will have two functional areas for their area of focus, though they may be assigned work from any functional area as business needs dictate.
Responsibilities
- In coordination with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders, analyze, design, and develop new training deliverables to meet the training needs of IV-D program staff. This may include a variety of delivery formats, such as web-based training, virtual or in-person instructor-led training, job aids, webinars, etc.
- Update (maintain) existing training curriculum to keep materials current with policy and system changes.
- Improve existing training curriculum based on adult learning theories, training industry best practices, and feedback from participants, stakeholders, and/or other trainers.
- Develop additional evaluation strategies to improve actionable data collection and feedback mechanisms for ongoing improvement of training deliverables.
- Apply standards to new and existing training materials. These standards include the Race Equity Training Review Tool and the PDD Style Guide.
- Develop and/or maintain Training Services team templates.
- In coordination with the Training Services administrative assistant, prepare the logistics for training implementation. This includes duties such as writing a course description and conducting train-the-trainer sessions to prepare other trainers in delivery of the new/updated materials.
- Attend joint application design meetings (JADs) to offer insights and learn from system design sessions.
- Attend various (virtual) meetings with users to establish relationships with the user base. This will provide greater insight into user needs and build relationships necessary for thorough training needs analysis.
- Work with training team management to implement the long-term strategy of the Michigan IV-D Program's training curriculum.
- Occasional virtual training delivery may be required.
Required skills and qualifications
- Proficient in Office 365 tools, such as Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook
- Proficient in Articulate 360 Suite
- Proficient in Camtasia
- Familiarity with the ADDIE model of instructional design
- Familiarity with agile project management
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders
- Committed to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion and incorporate the concepts in daily interactions and considerations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a variety of business program areas and support teams as well as a diverse group of stakeholders
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in related discipline
- At least one year of experience working with the Michigan IV-D child support program (e.g., as a program partner such as a Friend of the Court, Prosecuting Attorney or OCS employee) or other state IV-D child support program
- Experience working with a statewide child support system (experience working with the Michigan Child Support Enforcement System highly desired)
- Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology
- Familiarity with system development methodologies
- Understanding of Human Centered Design principles

This position is primarily a remote work location with travel required to:
- Participate in training and/or conferences; and
- Attend required in-person meetings.
