Credence has an immediate opening for an experienced Instructor of Civil Engineering who will be primarily responsible for supporting the Air Force Institute of Technology School of Civil Engineering (AFIT/CE) directorate at WPAFB, OH. 

AFIT/CE is the Air Force's sole provider of professional continuing education courses in the area of civil engineering. With more than 70 courses and seminars, the school plans, develops, and conducts resident and distance learning courses and programs to satisfy the professional continuing educational needs of civil engineer customers from the Air Force, DoD, and other federal agencies. More than 5,500 students receive education from AFIT/CE each year.

The school currently offers Air Force courses ranging in length from two days to 12 weeks in the disciplines of technical civil engineer courses, environmental, engineering management, and housing.  It is also the leader in distance and blended learning education for the civil engineering workforce, providing the tools, skills, and abilities to manage the entire spectrum of a civil engineering expertise through various media and forums.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below

  • Develop and administer PCE developed to educate/train joint service active duty, reservist, and National Guard, officers, enlisted, and civilians on tactical, strategic, and operational levels of the topics identified in the applicable school’s Qualifications/Technical Experience section. 
  • Develop, maintain, and teach course material in residence, on site, and via DL modes.
  • Coordinate course offerings, document courses in accordance with Air Force and AFIT policies and conduct post-offering assessments.
  • Interact with various course sponsors, subject matter experts, and instructional systems designers to determine education needs to develop, maintain, and instruct course content appropriately. All curriculums shall be approved by the course leadership and designed to facilitate understanding and engagement in accordance with curriculum standards.
  • Instruct in various settings which may include traditional classroom settings and distance learning and may be required to travel to different sites to instruct or develop curriculum.
  • Consult or advise as the subject matter expert in Air Force civil engineering business processes and business information systems.
  • Participate in consultation efforts, and attend or participate in workshops, conferences, technical interchanges, or similar venues as directed by the Government. 
  • Deliver courseware in civil engineering subject matter and related business information systems in both live and distance learning environments to include Temporary Duty (TDY) locations.  Examples of subject matter will include  BUILDER, PAVER, TRIRIGA, Enterprise Sustainment Management System (eSMS), cost estimating, funds management, and cultural resources management.  Additional subject matter and related business information systems may be required as the career field evolves.

Requirements

  • Clearance: NACI
  • MS/MA degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 15 years applied experience in Air Force civil engineering processes
  • Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge in Air Force civil engineering processes, procedures, policies, and techniques, Business Information Systems (BIS), subject matter relevance (housing management, TRIRIGA, cost estimating, etc.)
