JOB TITLE: Instrumentation & Controls Senior Engineer


JOB SUMMARY: Provides leadership and management in organizing, expanding, and operating the Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) line of business by setting standards, implementing processes and procedures, managing team members, and successfully procuring and executing I&C projects to meet customer expectations, budgetary constraints, schedules, and ADF quality and utilization standards.


JOB RELATIONSHIP: This position reports directly to the Vice President of ADF.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership & Management
    1. Define, develop, and implement product standards for I&C to meet industry requirements and ADF standards.
    2. Organize and direct internal resources to support the I&C line of business.
    3. Act as a pro-active spokesperson and advocate for the development of an I&C identity within ADF.
    4. Model high standards of productivity, quality, customer service, accountability, and integrity for the I&C Department.
    5. Develop an annual business plan for the I&C Department including sales targets, target customers, timeframes, budgets, capital needs, and human resource requirements.
    6. Work closely with the VP and President of ADF to set strategic goals to develop and grow the I&C function.
    7. Define the working relationship and integration of the Electrical Department functions with those of I&C and present an assessment to the VP of ADF.
    8. Develop I&C QA standards, CAD standards, and interdepartmental work flow protocols.
    9. Supervise, train, evaluate, develop and provide performance management (including disciplinary action if necessary) to direct reports.
    10. Provide supervisory oversight of any I&C staff who have supervisory reports.
    11. Foster and enforce a harmonious, accountable, and cooperative approach between departments to meet mutual objectives

  • Project Management
    1. Identify and organize the necessary resources to complete both I&C "stand alone" projects and multi-disciplinary projects that include I&C components.
    2. Work cooperatively with Project Managers and Department Managers to coordinate the completion of projects on time, within budget, and which meet customer expectations and contractual commitments.
    3. Develop full project specifications for any projects that have an I&C component including scope of project, budget, schedule, and all related project documents.

  • Business Development
  1. Identify and cultivate potential new I&C clients.
  2. Meet and develop working relationships with existing ADF clients.
  3. Actively maintain connections with ADF clients both during and after projects.
  4. Seek out opportunities for "add on" business using current and future projects to leverage the growth of ADF.
  5. Seek to encourage and promote repeat business by emphasizing the "customer relations" and "customer service" aspects of every business transaction.
  6. Set an example and enforce a "customer service" mentality and behaviors within ADF to foster repeat business.

Job Classification:

This is a full time (minimum of 40 hours per week), salaried, exempt position.
