Insurance Coverage Attorney

As an Insurance Coverage Attorney, you will handle a wide range of insurance coverage matters, including policy interpretation, coverage analysis, and dispute resolution. You will work closely with clients, insurers, and internal teams to deliver practical, strategic advice and represent client interests in coverage-related litigation and negotiations.

Depending on experience, the role may expand to include leadership responsibilities, mentoring junior attorneys, or contributing to business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret insurance policies, including commercial general liability, professional liability, D&O, property, and excess coverage
• Advise clients on coverage positions, exclusions, and risk exposure
• Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and denial letters
• Handle insurance coverage disputes, negotiations, and litigation
• Represent clients in declaratory judgment actions and coverage-related proceedings
• Collaborate with litigation teams on underlying claims and defense strategy
• Manage matters independently while meeting deadlines and quality standards
• Maintain strong client relationships through clear, practical communication

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
• 3+ years of experience in insurance coverage or related litigation (flexible based on seniority)
• Strong knowledge of insurance law, policy interpretation, and coverage litigation
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters and priorities independently
