The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Canyon Vista Medical Center is a 12-bed unit within a Level III Trauma Center. Our team culture emphasizes collaboration, communication, and excellence in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for critically ill patients.
Position SummaryThe ICU Registered Nurse (ICU RN) provides comprehensive and compassionate care to critically ill or high-acuity patients in the ICU or Progressive Care setting. This role follows Canyon Vista Medical Center standards and AACN guidelines while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities-
Deliver safe, effective nursing care in accordance with established protocols and standards

Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans

Administer medications and monitor hemodynamic status

Operate and manage complex life-support and monitoring equipment

Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and provide emergency interventions

Accurately document patient care in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards

Educate patients and families regarding care plans, treatments, and recovery expectations

Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure seamless care delivery
Education
-
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program (required)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
Licensure & Certifications
-
Active Arizona RN license or Compact State RN license
-
BLS and ACLS certifications (required within 90 days of hire)
Experience
-
1+ year of experience in Acute Care or Critical Care nursing (preferred)

Strong critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills

Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
-
Strong attention to detail and patient advocacy skills
