The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Coach Men's Basketball and is responsible for assisting in the planning, directing and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful Men's Basketball program on the NCAA Division 1 level. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced intercollegiate athletics professional with a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures to plan, administer and coordinate the recruiting activities of the Men’s basketball program. Resolves a wide range of issues of diverse scope and complexity. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. May lead or serve as a resource for other staff or students. Work directly with the Head Coach and other assistant coaches to assist in their daily recruiting needs.



Responsibilities:
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational and team leadership skills to work effectively with athletic participants. Required
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making;, be an effective problem solver and effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Required
  • Specialized knowledge of the team sport or activity and demonstrated technical expertise in coaching principles. Required
  • Leadership skills to mentor and develop athletes. Preferred
  • Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards. Required
  • Thorough knowledge of program activity and best practices. Required
  • Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties. Required

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $75,000.00- $85,000.00 (Annual).

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • May need to maintain NCAA certified recruiter status.
  • May need to maintain CPR / AED and First Aid certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in men's basketball operations; video, travel and camps and clinics

Special Conditions:
  • must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • must be willing to travel
