We are seeking an experienced Interim Controller to lead the finance function for a dynamic manufacturing organization. This role requires deep, hands-on experience in plant-level manufacturing finance, with a strong focus on cost accounting and margin integrity at the SKU level. We are seeking an experienced Interim Controller to lead the finance function for a dynamic manufacturing organization. This role requires deep, hands-on experience in plant-level manufacturing finance, with a strong focus on cost accounting and margin integrity at the SKU level. The ideal candidate will partner closely with Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate costing and financial discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full controllership responsibilities, including month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Implement and monitor cost accounting processes tied to BOM-driven formulations
- Maintain detailed inventory controls and ensure accurate cost of goods sold
- Collaborate with Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain to support margin integrity and cost discipline
- Lead and mentor accounting teams, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Support ERP systems and process improvements for efficiency
- Proven experience as a Controller in a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in cost accounting and inventory management
- Hands-on experience with BOM-driven formulations and SKU-level margin analysis
- Expertise in GAAP compliance and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH)
- Experience with ERP systems and financial software
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with private equity-backed companies
- Familiarity with ASC 606 and ASC 842 standards
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, operationally complex environment
- 5 or more years in a hands on Controller role within manufacturing/plant
- Degree in Accounting/Finance
