Interior Designer at LK Design is a passionate and motivated professional with 5+ years of relevant experience, exhibiting strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative spirit, thriving in teamwork while also demonstrating autonomy in their work. As an Interior Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and functional spaces for our clients and overseeing the project from intake to final punch-list. This studio-based position is client-facing.

 

Interior Designer will work directly with the Principal Designer, clients, and various trades.

  • Involvement in all phases of the design process, including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Client Presentation, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, Procurement and Installation.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Designer in the initial conceptual development of a project’s theme, character, and aesthetic direction.
  • Involvement in the development of project budgets, proposals, and project schedules
  • Responsible for development of working drawings, including furniture plans, interior elevations, millwork details, lighting plans and 3D renderings.
  • Development of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) selections, including specifications of products and materials.
  • Preparation of design presentations for both internal and external review.
  • Collaborate with the administrative team in FF&E procurement, including vendor and contractor quotes.
  • Collaborate closely with design and administrative team, clients, contractors and vendors, to oversee project management, as well as providing direction to trades to develop and implement design intent.
  • Collaboration in writing and creating internal documentation, such as standard of operations manuals, project templates, etc.
  • Collaborating with the Owner and Principal Designer in developing and structuring service offerings.
  • Occasionally attending trade events, including overnight /and out of town stays.
  • Involvement in any other project related tasks. Assist with errands and typical studio tasks as needed.


This position is an in-person, in studio full-time position.  Remote work on occasions.


Required Skill Set:

  • At least 5 years in a similar position at a residential interior design firm
  • Must have Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Interior Design School
  • Strong proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp) and Office 365
  • Experience in remodeling and construction is a big plus
  • Excellent spatial planning and project management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, and design trends
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Professional phone and email etiquette
  • Common sense and positive life outlook ... and a sense of humor!
