Job Summary:


Join the Colorado School of Public Health as the Intermediate Global Health Program Coordinator. This position is a key member of the schools Center for Global Health and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the projects/programs within the center. The Center for Global Health (CGH) is a multidisciplinary center, with highlighted partners including the CU Anschutz School of Medicine and Childrens Hospital Colorado, that engages faculty, fellows, residents, and students to develop transformative interventions for global health problems.

This position will play a major role in proactively anticipating issues/problems, suggesting a range of options with an analysis of advantages and disadvantages to assist the Director and Administrator in decision-making.

The coordinator will oversee complex educational activities, manage online learning platforms, coordinate external communications and social media accounts, and will be lead writer for the centers bi-monthly newsletter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-person coordination of CGH educational programs and events (Global Health and Disasters Course, Global Health Symposium, Global Health Project Fair, etc.) by convening meetings, managing agendas and speaker commitments, and coordinating all logistical aspects of the events.
  • Support global health fellows in the Global Health Fellowship Program.
  • Organize logistics for the Global Health Monthly Lecture Series (flyers, invites, promotional/marketing, Zoom recording, room reservations, etc.).
  • Meet with scholarship donors to discuss expectations and objectives for scholarship applicants and students.
  • Update scholarship applications and information on the CGH website; edit and send announcements regarding scholarships.
  • Focal point for all CGH inquiries, triaging requests for information and resources.
  • Primary point of contact for CGH website updates and social media accounts.

This is a full-time position and reports to the Center Assistant Director.

Hybrid This role requires full-time onsite presence with a hybrid schedule. This position is located on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO and is eligible to work a hybrid schedule with at least two days of the week that can be worked from home.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelors degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) year of professional level experience overseeing operational aspects related to the day-to-day management of projects/programs.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in non-profit or start-up organizations on public health community-based projects.
  • Experience in advocacy work and outreach.
  • Experience with social media, web site build-up, and maintenance.
  • Experience with data management software, and/or content management systems (e.g. Microsoft Excel).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Educational planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to take the initiative to solve problems.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Microsoft Excel and Word).
