Internal Auditor Apply
PURPOSE OF POSITION:Assist in the execution of the organization’s annual audit plan defined by the CCHC Compliance Workplan, including financial, operational and compliance audits. Assist in identifying audit risks and the development of audit programs. Concisely document relevant findings in work papers and develop comprehensive written audit reports. Conduct special investigations and reviews as required.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.Challenges current working practices identifies process improvement opportunities and presents recommendations and solutions to management. Engages and commits to the organization’s culture of continuous improvement by actively participating, supporting, and promoting CCHC Pillars of Excellence.Provides input on the development of audit plans and executes identified audits.Prepares narrative descriptions, flowcharts and other related documentation.Obtains, analyzes and appraises relevant data as a basis for an informed and objective opinion as to the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and area being reviewed, with special attention to vulnerabilities which may allow fraudulent and/or other undesirable activities to occur including non-compliance with CCHC requirements.Produces well organized work papers to accurately support findings.Conducts periodic checks to ensure that implemented changes related to prior audit findings are maintained and that audit objectives have been achieved and appropriately reported.Keeps actively informed on the business climate of the health care industry.Keeps up to date with new accounting pronouncements, audit guidelines, CCHC policies and procedures and laws and regulations pertinent to the industry.Provides other assistance within the Department and to the organization as reasonably required.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:Ability to read, write and communicate in EnglishBachelor’s degree (or higher) preferably in Law, Healthcare, Compliance, Finance, Business, or AccountingMust meet at least one of the following qualifications (experience in healthcare is a plus): Minimum of five years of prior audit experience, OR more than seven years of audit experience in lieu of a degree(Preferred) – Certification in auditing through the Association of Health Care Auditors and Educators (AHCAE), such as: Certified Healthcare Chart Auditor (CHCA); Certified Healthcare Chart Auditor – Facility (CHCAF); Certified Healthcare Chart Auditor – Surgical (CHCAS); Certified Healthcare Risk Auditor (CHCRA)Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced computer proficiency, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and WordStrong interpersonal and collaboration skillsPerform other work-related duties as assigned or requestedSchedule Details:Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Occasional Evenings, Weekends, & Occasional HolidaysPay Range Details:The pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. This is not inclusive of the value of Cape Cod Healthcare’s benefits package (if applicable), which includes among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision and retirement. For annual salaries this is based on full-time employment.
