Inventory AnalystAt BWI, inventory isn't just numbers on a screen, it's the engine that keeps our 60+ years of growth moving forward. As an Inventory Analyst, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time, partnering with buyers, warehouse teams, transportation managers, and corporate leadership to keep our supply chain efficient and responsive.What You'll DoAs an Inventory Analyst, you'll serve as a key liaison between corporate and field operations, balancing inventory needs with cost efficiency and operational realities. You will:Review and coordinate inventory transfers between locations.Partner with local and corporate buyers to determine optimal replenishment strategiestransfers vs. purchasing.Coordinate non-scheduled loads with warehouse and transportation managers to ensure cost-effective movement of products.Work with the corporate logistics team to manage common carrier usage and rates.Analyze sales history, trends, buying patterns, and economic conditions to forecast inventory needs.Evaluate inventory decisions based on pricing, discounts, freight costs, lead times, inventory turns, warehouse space, and product shelf life.Build and manage intercompany shipments for picking and shipping locations.Identify and resolve location overloads to maximize shipping efficiency.Use computer and reporting tools to maintain appropriate inventory levels and support promotions.Collaborate with warehouse and transportation teams to align shipment schedules with operational capacity.Take on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.What Success Looks LikeInventory levels are balanced, meeting customer demand without unnecessary overstock.Transfers and shipments are planned efficiently and executed smoothly.Data-driven decisions support sales, promotions, and long-term growth.Strong working relationships with buyers, logistics, and warehouse teams.What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree preferred (Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, or Business).6 months to 1 year of related experience in inventory, supply chain, or distribution.Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Clear written and verbal communication.Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.Adaptability in a fast-moving environment.Accountability, initiative, and customer-focused thinking.Why BWI?BWI is a recognized leader in the wholesale distribution of lawn and garden products, with a long track record of profitability and growth.
