How you will make contributions that matter..
This is an entry-level plant production position. If hired, the employee will receive training in multiple positions in an effort to support plant operations.
Pay Range: $21.88 - $22.88
  • The Production Clerk (SAP) actively supports the production, materials and accounting departments by monitoring physical and perpetual ingredients and packaging materials inventory usage, transfers and/or adjustments.
  • Performs accurate data entry and reporting of ingredient and raw material usage and inventories into the ERP system to support usage and inventory integrity on a daily basis.
  • Support inventory control activities, frequency can include daily, weekly, monthly, fiscal quarter-end and fiscal year-end.
  • Review, analyze and resolve material inventory variances in the Enterprise Control Component (ECC) in support of ingredients, receiving, mix/blend and filling operations.
  • Investigate and communicate material usage inventory discrepancies with leadership team.
  • Monitor system functionality, resolve transactions and data entry errors or incidents to prevent production delays. Make adjustments in accordance with Company compliance guidelines.
  • Perform typical administrative duties: filing, faxing, scanning, emailing, report writing, and other administrative duties
  • Support internal/external audits
  • Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
  • Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively apply the Saputo Values.
  • Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
  • Other duties as required by management.
Job requirements
  • Two-years strong experience in inventory control, tracking and reconciliation, in the food manufacturing industry a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based ERP applications. Advanced MS Excel skills required. SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience with 10-key, fax, scanning, PC skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to understand cost containment, product yields, usage and budgetary principles.
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, AM or PM to include holidays and weekends.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
  • Fine manipulation and dexterity, gripping and squeezing.
  • Visual acuity with the ability to see color.
  • Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures.
  • Physical lifting up to 50-lbs frequently throughout the shift and ability to lift 50+ lbs with assistance.
  • Shift flexibility. This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a 24/7 operation to support manufacturing. This can either be rotating, days, swing or night shifts and weekends. Work days and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.
