Position: Inventory Control Coordinator
Location: Kalamazoo, MI - 49002
Duration: 6 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Shift: Monday to Friday from 04:00 PM to 12:30 AM
Summary
This role involves managing on-site inventory activities, including replenishments, stock rotation, order entry, and cycle counts, while ensuring accurate inventory records and maintaining safety standards. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Use handheld RF scanners and mobile apps to perform replenishments, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry, returns, and backorder processing.
  • Receive and inspect shipments, scan and store items, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Manage customer interactions primarily via email and follow up by phone to resolve inquiries and build trust.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and teammates to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain workplace safety and organization standards by following site guidelines and using required PPE.
  • Monitor stock levels proactively and report discrepancies to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Skills
  • 1 2 years of experience in customer-facing, retail stocking, warehouse, or inventory-control roles.
  • Ability to manage inventory effectively.
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Familiarity with RF handheld scanners or mobile scanning applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, especially via email.
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability, and teamwork skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
  • Must be able to lift 30 40 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • May use pushcarts or forklifts to move loads up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and manual material handling in varied-temperature environments.
  • Work may occur in areas with chemical-based allergens (e.g., penicillin, tetracycline); PPE such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes is required.
