Summary The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and assisting customer service representatives and warehouse personnel with inventory-related and warehouse management system issues. The Inventory Control Specialist will spend the majority of their time working on the distribution center floor. What You'll Be Doing Maintain an excellent working relationship with the customer by responding to all inquiries and complaints concerning receipts and inventory in a timely and efficient manner. Report customer feedback to management, including any cases of customer dissatisfaction. Proficiently know the warehouse management system. Maintain the product locator system in strict accordance with prescribed procedures. Ensure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories and routine cycle counts, reconciling with the inventory control system. Inventory validation is required for racking at heights up to 50 feet. Maintain a complete understanding of customer service requirements related to inventory control. Ensure product rotation is occurring as required by the customer. Routinely inspect the inventory for damage or shrinkage and report results to management. Periodically verify that inbound product is received accurately from the customer's receiving line and/or inbound vendors and as directed by Wagner management. Periodically verify that outbound freight is staged according to the customer's quality assurance requirements and as directed by Wagner management. Remain vigilant and report any potential safety hazards, such as product shifting, that could result in personal injury from falling products. Monitor security procedures to safeguard warehouse operations and contents. Report any suspicious activity or security breach to management. Schedule Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Starting Pay $21.00 per hour What You Need Education (preferred level) High school diploma or equivalent Experience (preferred level in a similar position) One year of experience. Knowledge / Experience / Skills Must be able to read and count accurately, perform simple math, and write legibly. Forklift certified or possesses the ability to complete a forklift training course successfully. General personal computer skills, including the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office programs. Must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods. You must be able to lift up to fifty pounds on occasion to inspect products. The ability to follow directions, deductive reasoning, and problem‑solving skills are essential. Must be well organized and able to multitask, comprehend written policies and procedures, and follow oral instructions. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to stand, sit, squat, crawl, bend, twist, and/or kneel for up to 12‑hour periods and repetitively. Capability to navigate through narrow, confined spaces. Work near or on top of sloping, uneven, and/or slippery surfaces. Exposure to varying temperatures: heat, cold, wet, damp, drafty. Possible exposure to areas with high noise levels that may require hearing protection. Use hands and fingers to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights.
