POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Supervisor oversees daily inventory accuracy, cycle counting, quality audits, and process improvement within the fulfillment center. This role ensures compliance with company standards, leads a team of ICQA personnel, and partners with Operations to maintain accurate, efficient, and well-controlled inventory processes.

An individual must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Inventory Control & Cycle Count Management

  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to fulfillment center inventory processes and standards.
  • Analyze and communicate top defect trends by area, process, or associate to Operations leadership.
  • Provide weekly reporting and adjustment information, present recommendations to senior leadership.

2. Quality Assurance Oversight

  • Consolidate and report top quality issues across the fulfillment center.
  • Partner with Operations Managers to review quality performance and determine corrective actions.
  • Support supplier performance reviews and recommend improvement initiatives.
  • Identify audit cycle enhancements and implement process adjustments.

3. Problem Solving & Root Cause Remediation

  • Analyze trends and performance patterns related to inventory accuracy and quality.
  • Escalate issues requiring additional support or cross-functional intervention.
  • Develop and implement plans to address root causes and improve inventory flow.
  • Assign tasks and coordinate corrective actions across departments as needed.

4. Process Improvement

  • Apply Lean methodologies to improve inbound, outbound, and ICQA processes.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all inventory control and quality processes meet operational excellence benchmarks.

5. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work closely with Area Managers and Operations leadership to optimize inventory accuracy.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders (Engineering, Transportation, Supply Chain, etc.) to resolve inventory discrepancies and improve supplier performance.
  • Support communication and alignment on inventory-related issues throughout the fulfillment center.

6. Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Inventory Control and Quality Assurance team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support career development.
  • Maintain team engagement, motivation, and adherence to company standards.
  • Mentor ICQA Leads and associates.

7. Compliance & Ethics

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Promote the company mission, values, and Open Door Policy.
  • Support safe work practices and proper use of PPE.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Knowledge

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse and distribution center operations.
  • Proficient reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Prior inventory control, ICQA, or warehouse experience strongly preferred.

Equipment & Systems

  • Experience using warehouse management system (WMS) terminals, RF scanners, calculators, labelers, and typical office equipment.
  • Ability to operate an Order Picker to support cycle counts performed in racking.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(Requirements exist depending on frequency within an 8-12 hour shift.)

  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, and computer use.
  • Lifting, carrying, and handling merchandise up to50lbs. unassisted.
  • Bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, and manipulating small objects.
  • Ability to visually inspect merchandise and read fine print.
  • Communicate in person and via telecommunications equipment.
  • Wear required PPE including fall protection, safety footwear, and other protective gear.
