Inventory Management Specialist Apply
Duties Determines parts supportability across all sources of Supply for established and future shop requirements of DLA and Non‑DLA managed materials. Provides material support of particular projects, work operations, and/or programs and serves as a material support point of contact (POC) for maintenance customers. Analyzes and reviews Unfilled Order (UFO) and Gross Demand Plan (GDP) documents to develop and recommend process‑improvement strategies for more effective material sustainability. Collaborates with DLA Customer Support Specialist, Demand and Supply Planners, and appropriate Navy personnel to set and establish safety retail stock levels. Reviews and evaluates demand and supply metrics data indicating misalignments between maintenance requirements and supply availability. Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen. Tour of Duty: Flexible. Security Requirements: Non‑Critical Sensitive. Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Non‑Exempt. Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12‑31‑59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized. Bargaining Unit Status: Yes. Selectees are required to have a REAL ID or other acceptable identification documents to access certain federal facilities. Qualifications Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience directly related to this position, including experience handling material supportability analysis, supply and production management systems, and retail supply functions. Education: Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education. A transcript is required. A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of graduate education, may serve as a substitute for experience. Graduate education equivalence: One academic year of graduate education is considered 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours. Foreign education must be evaluated by a private organization; equivalent courses may be accepted. Combination: Combined education and experience may be used to meet the qualification percentages required for the grade level. DoD Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics: Must obtain the entry‑level 1 certification within required timeframes and achieve 80 hours of continuous learning points (CLPs) every two years.
