This role will report directly to the Materials Manager, oversee the daily activities of the inventory staff, analyze inventory data, cycle counts and ensure accuracy of inventory records.The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies, working closely with the Logistics Supervisor, Paper Supervisor and other cross-functional departments throughout the business unit.Job ResponsibilitiesAlways promote safety and quality within the plantMonitor and analyze inventory levels and customer purchase trends to ensure that goals are met and inventory is accurateEnsure activities are focused on relentless execution of continuous supply of goods and materials to productionDevelop, implement, and update inventory control procedures and policies to minimize losses and reduce costs.Accurately record and document inventory dataProvide guidance and leadership to the inventory staffReview inventory records and transactions for accuracyTrack inventory levels and report on any changes or trendsPrepare and submit reports to managementOversees team of inventory or warehouse employees.Manage inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels.Evaluates deliveries, shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.Manages schedules of employees, deliveries and shipments to optimize operations.Communicates with inventory employees to meet business goals and address personnel issues.Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics.Reports on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency and personnel issues to upper management.Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed to managementCompetencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures.Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to run reports, interpret the data, and present to leadershipProficient MS officeIs high-energy, resilient, self-motivated team player with the ability to multi-taskIs experienced with material flow through a manufacturing facilityIs willing to flex working hours to cover business needsBuild strong relationships with internal stakeholdersAttendance/Punctuality - Is consistent at work and on time and in personRequired Education, Experience, & Skills:Bachelor's degree recommended. Major in Business or Logistics preferredPrevious experience as an Inventory Supervisor or related positionProficient knowledge of inventory management principles and practices2-3 years of experience in a logistics function preferredKnowledge of the protective packaging industry is preferred.Experience with data analysis and related tools (Excel expertise is a must); knowledge of SAP is beneficialAbility to manage projects or threads of projects and perform self-directed work.Effective problem-solving skills and various requirements gathering techniques.CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis' total compensation package. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $67-$80K.Compensation details listed in US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits.
