Job Description
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with data systems, programming, and operational workflows. This role is well suited for someone with strong SQL skills who is comfortable managing projects from concept through implementation and collaborating across teams.
The primary focus of this position is database development, data movement, and technical project coordination. Experience with EDI is helpful but not required and represents only a small portion of the role; training can be provided if needed.
This position is on-site at our Centerbrook, CT location. Relocation assistance is not available at this time.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL-based applications, scripts, and reporting solutions
- Manage technical projects from planning through execution, working with cross-functional teams
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and development tasks
- Track timelines, deliverables, and ensure project scope and quality standards are met
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize database queries and performance
- Create and maintain documentation for code, processes, and workflows
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritize work and communicate progress
- Assist with data exchange processes and integrations as needed (EDI exposure optional)
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of project management concepts and planning
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL
- Ability to manage technical tasks and projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with data integration concepts preferred
- Prior EDI knowledge is beneficial but not required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
- Related technical or computer experience required
- Experience with data integration, reporting, or middleware platforms a plus
- Exposure to ERP systems or operational workflows is beneficial
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
