Job Description Overview: SOSi is seeking a highly qualified IT Database Specialist to join our team in Fort Belvoir, VA to support our government customer. The IT Database Specialist will perform as a technical expert in the area of database management and administration to support the operation, maintenance, and modification of the ARIMS family of applications. Essential Job Duties: Develop and implement solutions to complex database problems requiring originality and ingenuity. Serve as a technical specialist in application software and information management or as a systems integration generalist. Ensure compliance with Army software requirements, maintaining system integrity with only Army-approved software. Provide expert knowledge and support for GOTS applications, including ARIMS and its associated systems and infrastructure. Liaise with various groups within the Contractor and partner companies to facilitate integrated and cohesive solutions. Proactively update and advise Government IT personnel on possible solutions to technical issues. Troubleshoot technical problems related to application software, technical information management, systems integration, and GOTS applications. Act as a liaison with other groups inside the program. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree in engineering, scientific, technical, or business management disciplines from an accredited college or university. A minimum of 7 years of specialized database experience ideally in an area relevant to Army Records Management. An active in scope Secret security clearance. Proficiency in GOTS applications and systems, especially ARIMS, and familiarity with its technical infrastructure, including Microsoft SQL and CA SiteMinder. Demonstrated capability to apply extensive expertise as a technical specialist or systems integration generalist. Must have demonstrated the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders in multiple formats. Must possess baseline and computing environment certifications for IAT-II IAW DoD 8570.01-M (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, or SSCP). Preferred Qualifications: Advanced certifications related to database management, such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Database Administrator. Experience with cloud-based database technologies and services. Prior experience in a government or military IT environment, particularly related to record management. Proven track record in managing large-scale database projects. Proficiency in SQL and database scripting languages. Knowledge of database design principles and data modeling techniques. Understanding of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for databases. Familiarity with cloud-based database services and solutions such as, AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL. Experience with database monitoring tools and diagnostic practices. Knowledge of current government policies regarding data management such as OMB and NARA policies for electronic records management. Additional Information Work Environment: Normal office conditions. Core hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 0600 - 1700. On government site within Fort Belvoir, VA.
