Job Description ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC is seeking a Junior level IT Infrastructure Engineer with strong skills in platform engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure automation to join us supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This junior level individual will work independently and in a team environment with direct supervision for this on‑site, full‑time, salaried position. Responsibilities Performs a mixture of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a Technical Manager or more experienced computer scientist or engineer. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team. May perform some leadership functions for small projects/programs/teams. Applies experience and detailed technical knowledge applicable to plan and accomplish assignments. Demonstrates some independence in planning time and using assigned resources to accomplish assignments and small projects. Works with other employees, both contract and federal, to share information and provide data and/or written analyses and discuss the statuses of assignments. Typically receives guidance on selecting approach from a Technical Manager or more experienced computer scientist or engineer. May provide recommendations to improve work processes. Frequently refers difficult problems and work issues to a Technical Manager or more experienced computer scientist or engineer when guidelines are not available or applicable. Work is reviewed periodically during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and technical compliance with the requirements of the project or other work activity. Work activities may affect project/program objectives for external organizations. In some areas, the work may affect the safety and security of customers. Qualifications All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance: Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non‑immigrant Work Authorization (VISA). Has resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years. RealID Driver’s License/ID or current US Passport. The company is unable to sponsor candidates at this time. Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT fields, with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. Three (3) to six (6) years of related work experience is required. For the right candidate, one (1) to three (3) years of related work experience may be considered. Required Skills Knowledge/experience in: Strong coding skills in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible) Version Control (e.g., Git) Kubernetes, Docker/OpenShift, including deploying, configuration, and troubleshooting clusters Debugging Kubernetes resources (PODs, deployments, services, ingress, config maps, secrets, Helm, etc.) Writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Linux System Administration and Networking Has or has the ability to: Strong ability to work on multiple projects independently. Work in a fast‑paced environment, be detail oriented, willing to take initiative, self‑motivated in learning, research, and troubleshooting. Excellent verbal, written, and customer relations skills. Strong interpersonal/team working skills. Preferred Skills Knowledge/experience in: AWS toolchain or any cloud environment. Python and Ansible scripting. Provide 2nd Level Engineering to the FAA. Infrastructure Management including but not limited to: RHEL System Administration, Networking, DevSecOps setup, CI/CD Pipelines, OpenShift/Docker/Kubernetes environments, and VMware. Development and maintenance of Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation workflows. Participate in meetings, code reviews, etc. Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing Linux environment. On‑site with a standard flexible work schedule. Occasional non‑standard work hours (e.g. nights) and travel may be requested.
