Job Description

As the IT Manager at Document Mountain, you'll be in charge of the whole IT department. This includes running all tech operations, managing the infrastructure across our four network sites, and keeping about 70 staff members happy with technical support. You'll directly manage a team of four IT Support specialists, and a big part of the job is creating and rolling out strategic plans to make sure our entire tech environment—especially what supports our Document Management solutions—is reliable, secure, and running efficiently.

A key part of this role is becoming an expert in our proprietary, custom-built Document Management Solutions. This deep knowledge is crucial because you'll be actively managing and overseeing all the software development and enhancement projects for it. You'll be the main go-between for the tech teams and the business side, carefully defining what's needed, tracking how projects are going, making sure everything passes strict quality checks, and getting new features and fixes successfully deployed. Ultimately, you'll ensure the software keeps evolving and stays aligned with the company's goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 4 IT Support individuals, including performance reviews, coaching, and professional development.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the company's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Manage and maintain network connectivity and performance across 4 separate locations.
  • Ensure the smooth operation and support for approximately 70 end-users.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IT policies and procedures to ensure data security and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement of IT equipment and services.
  • Plan and execute IT projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues escalated by the IT Support team

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Become the subject matter expert on our internal and external document management solutions
  • Act as the primary liaison between technical development teams and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements for the proprietary Document Management Solution.
  • Assist in the management of the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) for the custom Document Management Solution, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and deployment schedules.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance (QA) processes, including testing and validation, to guarantee the reliability, performance, and security of all new software features and fixes.
  • Oversee and manage the project backlog, prioritize development tasks, and allocate resources effectively to meet strategic product roadmap milestones.
  • Track and report on project progress, risks, and dependencies to executive leadership, ensuring alignment between software evolution and overall company objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an IT Manager or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of network administration, operating systems, and database management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor technical staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field

Additional Skills/Certifications/Degrees (Highly Desired):

  • Strong familiarity with Document Management solutions and software.
  • Programming Knowledge in .NET Framework, C++, C#, Java and query writing in SQL.
  • Additional certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Security+ are advantageous.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT support or a related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, enjoys a hands-on atmosphere with a proactive approach to IT issues.
