This Information Technology Program Manager position is located in Rochester, MN, and requires the employee to be within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus for occasional on‑site visits. Responsibilities May have overall program responsibility for a set of interrelated projects of very large size and/or high complexity, or multiple projects of mixed complexity. Manages or leads programs with budget responsibility up to $20 million and provides matrix supervision of staff from other IT departments and divisions. Engages technological subject matter experts in high‑level solution determination and direction‑setting. Interfaces with institutional committees and oversight bodies to understand priorities, develop project action plans, facilitate approvals, and work across boundaries to deliver solutions. Ensures program and project objectives are achieved on time, on budget, and in conformance with Mayo Clinic IT methodologies. Supports strategic planning and execution of multi‑year initiatives involving multiple interrelationships and complexities. Make complex judgments and take required actions under limited guidance. Acts as an internal subject matter expert on departmental and institutional program and project management practices, methods, and standards. Models and mentors junior colleagues in a Project Focused Culture within the IT department. Performs responsibilities with significant independence and expertise, communicating complex technical information clearly to management and end users. Strictly adheres to budget management guidelines of the IT department and the institution. Limited Tenure - The position is defined for a fixed term. Employees are regular staff during the tenure but employment terminates at the established end date. Staff must remain in the role for approximately 24 months before becoming eligible for transfer. After tenure completion, the employee must secure another Mayo Clinic role through the job vacancy process; otherwise employment ends. Qualifications Master’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 13 years’ experience, OR Associates degree with a minimum of 15 years’ experience. Relevant experience includes managing projects and programs from simple to highly complex, demonstrating increasing scope and depth across technological environments and business areas. Must possess a current Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification (or comparable national certification) obtained within three (3) years of hire.
