Overview Under the direction of the Coordinator, Administrative Computing Services, the IT Programmer Analyst performs system analysis and computer programming which supports the college’s administrative offices and business process functions. This position also functions as the backup systems administrator on the ERP and associated systems as well as serving as the lead analyst in Portal development and management. Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree in a computer-related field with two years’ of relevant job experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Coursework or experience with applications development, implementation and enhancements required. Coursework or experience with systems analysis, design and support of software applications in a multi-user database environment required. Coursework or experience with programming in areas such as; PowerApps, .NET, and web development tools (such as HTML, CSS, and JSON) required. Experience with the use, support and configuration of student and financial information systems in a higher education environment highly desired. Knowledge of Ellucian systems desirable. Other Skills: Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Good written and verbal communication skills. Specific Functions Serves as the lead IT Programmer Analyst and Project Manager in Portal (SharePoint) development and management. Serves as backup systems administrator on the ERP and associated systems. Serves as lead analyst in the implementation of applications that interface with Colleague. Participates in planning and deployment of ERP system enhancements and upgrade efforts. Develops data uploads and provides relevant integration between the College ERP systems and ancillary business operations software. Ensures systems security by periodically examining logs and participating in other assigned duties as part of the Comprehensive Information Security Program. Functions as a member of the Information Technology Team for department-wide operations. Supports and enhances the college’s ERP (enterprise resource planning system). Applies appropriate computer technology to solve business problems. Works closely with personnel in administrative and academic offices to develop new computer programs and systems or to modify existing ones. Programs applications using procedural and object-oriented programming languages and uses web development tools such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Performs database programming including programming stored triggers and procedures. Analyzes complex business systems to determine system requirements. Communicates effectively with college personnel concerning active projects. Produces technical and user documentation. Troubleshoots application system failures. Performs other duties as assigned. Benefits And Salary Range Applicants receiving benefits through the New York State Retirement System should review state regulations regarding post-retirement employment. This position is not eligible for employment under a Section 211 waiver. Competitive starting salary in the range of $60,103 - $63,108 and is commensurate with qualifications A flexible work schedule is available upon successful completion of training. This position follows a hybrid model, with a combination of on-site and remote work. NYS retirement or Optional SUNY Retirement Program SUNY Voluntary Savings Plan Comprehensive Health and Dental Insurance through Excellus BCBS FSA 21 days of annual leave, 12 sick days, and 13.5 holidays annually FLCC Tuition Waiver for employee and dependents Tuition assistance – 4-year institutions Special Notes: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
