Role: IT Strategy Consultant

Overview:

The IT Strategy Consultant will work with a multidisciplinary team of consultants to assist a government agency in developing a comprehensive strategic plan. This individual will focus on aligning the agency's information technology infrastructure, systems, and processes with its overarching strategic goals, ensuring technology enhances the agency's mission, operational efficiency, and public service delivery.

Requirements

Key Qualifications:

- Education: Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in IT consulting, with a strong background in strategic planning, preferably within government or public sector institutions. Extensive experience in developing IT strategies for other government agencies is required.

- Strategic Acumen: Proven track record of guiding government agencies through IT transformation initiatives that align with long-term organizational goals.

- Collaboration Skills: Experience working with diverse teams, including stakeholders from various agency departments such as operations, finance, human resources, and public services.

- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, non-technical manner to agency leadership and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Alignment: Develop an IT strategic plan that aligns with the agency's broader strategic goals, ensuring technology supports public service delivery, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate workshops and interviews with agency stakeholders to understand current challenges and opportunities for leveraging IT effectively.

- Technology Assessment: Assess the current state of IT infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement, modernization, and optimization.

- Roadmap Development: Create a multi-year roadmap for IT investments and initiatives, focusing on areas such as cloud adoption, cybersecurity, data management, and user experience.

- Change Management: Work alongside other consultants to develop a change management approach that prepares agency staff for IT changes and supports adoption.
